#MINECRAFT VERSIONS UPDATE#
Snapshots are often released a couple of weeks prior to a full update in order to give the developers time to fix any bugs that might come up. They may come with bugs and unintended features. Minecraft Snapshots are early releases of the new update. Developers have been known to go quite a while without updating anything in the game at times, so don't expect them to release an update for every bug they find. Not all versions have Minecraft updates, as it is up to the developers to release a new one. Minecraft Updates are patches that fix bugs and/or improve gameplay. When a version is released, it will usually include a new name and a number that corresponds to the order in which it was released. Each version is named after a certain Minecraft update, but not all updates have their own numbered release that is listed in the column above. When the first versions of the game dropped in 2011, no one expected that the open-world sandbox title made by a largely unknown studio would grow to be one of the most popular games of a generation, off of which an entire media.
